Obituary

William Lyle (Bill) Dobbins, 68, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Hickory Heights Health and Rehab in Little Rock. He was born April 21, 1952, in Pine Bluff to Roy H. and Margaret Hugon Dobbins. He received a Bachelor of Science in Education from UCA in 1973, and became a teacher, having taught in both Texas and Arkansas. He was a veteran and officer in the United States Navy and retired from the National Guard in Arkansas.

He loved spending time reading and loving on his animals. He also enjoyed helping and teaching others inside, as well as outside, the classroom.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Martha (Dobbins) Ross and Julie Dobbins; and a nephew, Don H. Ross Jr.

He is survived by his niece, Margaret “Lou” Ross Yoder and her husband, Nathan; and a great-nephew, Winn Yoder.

A memorial graveside service will be planned in the near future.

Donations in lieu of flowers should be made to Jefferson County Humane Society, P.O. Box 2233, Pine Bluff, AR 71613-2233.
