Obituary

Walter Bruce ‘Bubby’ Tucker, 67, of Little Rock, died Saturday, May 2nd, 2020
Preceded in death by his precious parents Carl and Bonnie Tucker of Pine Bluff, Walter is survived by his brothers Carl Tucker, Jr (Skip) of Pine Bluff, Tommy (Betsy) Tucker of Batesville, and Mark (Pauline) Tucker of Skelmersdale, Lancashire, UK. Also surviving Walter are nieces and a nephew: Haley Tucker of Little Rock; Shane Tucker of Little Rock, Kevan Beth (Steven) Meadors (Elle, Tucker) of Dallas, Bonnie Tucker of Dallas; Marie (Ben) Foreman (Bonnie) of the UK, and Anna Renae Tucker of the UK. Lastly, Walter leaves a host of very dear and special friends, each of whom he loved so very much.
Walter’s gentle spirit touched many lives over his 67 years. A lover of nature and of God’s beautiful creation, witty and intelligent, musical and creative, artistic and funny, and an animal lover, Walter was a loving person who gave of himself and lived a simple life. He loved his family, loved being with friends at the Pizza Café, loved his Brown Street neighbors, and loved his back yard, a magical place where his gardening mastery and green thumb flourished and thrived. Walter also loved, and is survived by, his cat Becker.
Walter’s family wants to thank the doctors and nurses at UAMS who gave him the best possible care, as well as the many friends who loved Walter, and whom he loved like family. The kind words you have shared and the outpouring of love for Walter has been more comforting than you will ever know.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Food Bank or to the charity of your choice.

Walter was such a kind and gentle soul... always smiling. He seemed to me that material possessions were not important... life moments were. He and I met back in the 90’s and I have many fond memories. My condolences to his family. I know you will miss him.

Walter was a pleasure to work with as we pursued a common goal of providing quality nutrition to thousands of Arkansans! I valued his tender heart, warm demeanor and gentle spirit. He will be missed. I am praying for the host of people who are grieving his passing. May we experience God's love and presence in the midst of sorrow.

"Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you." John 16:22 (NASB)

I work at the Feeding America National Office and have interacted with Walter periodically over the past year and a half. In all our interactions he was a kind, thoughtful gentleman who deeply cared about helping people in his community! He will be missed. Laura Studee
