Obituary

Sharon Jeannine Pevey, 77, of Rison, died Thursday, January 7, 2021, at her home. She was born June 18, 1943, in Long Beach, CA, and was raised by Rev. Jack and Johnnie Bates. She was a retired business manager for the Department of Corrections, where she received the 2005 Warden’s Outstanding Service Award. She was a member of the Arkansas State Employee’s Association, the ADC Retiree’s Association, and Center Missionary Baptist Church.

Sharon loved to travel and camp. She was also a master seamstress who enjoyed decorating and crafting, and she loved baking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Pevey; a daughter, Renee, Pevey; a son, Todd Pevey; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Stiltner; and an adored son-in-law, Frank Williams, Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Stiltner-Williams and Caity Terry; a sister, Karen Broach and husband, Robert; 7 grandchildren, Derek and wife, Krystina, Britny and husband, Steven, Crystal and husband, Scott, Keith, Madyson, Faelyn, and Taeya; 7 great-grandchildren, Briona and husband, J.T., Briaja, Brinya, Briela, Iona, Isabella, and Emma; and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Brinkley; and her caregiver, Gail.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Pleasant Springs Cemetery with the Rev. Doney Blackerby officiating. Burial is under the direction of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Ministry at Center Missionary Baptist Church, 60 Cole Rd., Rison, AR 71665

Michelle I am so sorry for you and all your family . I am proud i got to know her she was my coffee drinking buddy .I called her mom and she will always be in my heart as well as all of you are yaw have been my second family. I sit here and think about all the stories she has told and smile and i will treasure them all. Sending love and hugs to each of you

I was Sharon's caregiver she was a loving person and a very strong person who loved her family and friends I'm gona miss her so much I really can't believe she's gone but she will be with the Lord forever. Love you Sharon(Grandma)

I knew Sharon and Ronald from my employment with the Department of Correction.
They were both very pleasant to work with and to know away from work.
I know they will be missed by those that knew them.
