Obituary

Scott Harrison, 53, of Pine Bluff, went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 26, 2019.
Scott was born July 3, 1966, in Pine Bluff, to the late John Loyd “Pete” and Margaret Ann Gibbs Harrison. He was reared and received his education in Pine Bluff, where he graduated from Watson Chapel High School in 1984. At the age of 16, Scott went to work for Safeway and then Harvest Foods. He then went to work for the Jefferson County Juvenile Detention Center where he worked for 24 years as a Juvenile Detention Officer and was later sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff.
Scott was a member of the Church of Christ. He was an animal lover, who loved to rescue stray cats and dogs who needed a loving home. He was very active and enjoyed being a part of the Railroad Museum. Scott had many hobbies which included his miniature train and carnival displays, playing the drums, and most of all spending time with his pride and joy, his son, Josh.
He is survived by his son, Josh Harrison of Pine Bluff; brother, Mark (Pat) Harrison of Pine Bluff; niece, Hayley Langston of White Hall; nephew, Hayden Harrison of Pine Bluff; three aunts, Marie (Sonny) Derden of Sherrill, Betty McClanahan of Pine Bluff, and Carol (Charles) Adams of Denton, Texas; and many beloved cousins and extended family. He also absolutely adored his cats.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, John and Luvenia Harrison and Grover and Eunice Gibbs.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 29, 2019, 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Jimmy Ivy officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to service time.

Scott will always be remembered by me & my family for his kindness, his laugh & sly, knowing grin just before zinging my son as he amazed Todd by regaling him of "THE SHADOW" ( aka Scott) always knowing of my son's many missteps as a child when he saw us at the grocery store. ( I would tell Scott what Todd was up to.) He let him know he was "keeping up with him" & encouraged him to grow in to a kind, responsible, educated young man. Scott was just kind like that. Taking in interest in the folks he met & became friends with along the way. He will be missed. R.I.L.
