Obituary for Robert Edwin Burton

Robert Edwin Burton, 79, of Pine Bluff, died on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at his home.  He was born January 25, 1943, in Kennett, MO, to Charles E. and Abigail Malone Burton.  Robert was retired as a draftsman for Central Maloney and was of the Catholic faith.  When he wasn’t working, he loved spending time watching NASCAR, especially his favorite driver, Tony Stewart, or perhaps it was any Razorback game that was on TV, whether it was football, basketball, baseball, or gymnastics.  He also loved to fish in his favorite hangout, Atkins Lake, and had a passion and extensive knowledge of fast cars.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gloria Burton; a sister, Shelby Etheridge and step-son, Tommy Earhart.

Survivors include his daughter, Sheri E. Burton (Brandy Taylor); granddaughter, Kylee E. Taylor; brother, Terry Burton; brother-in-law, Bob Etheridge (Irene); former wife, Anita White; and step-children, Terry Earhart (Waynette), Joe Earhart (Becky), David Wolfe, and Deborah Wolfe.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Graceland Cemetery with Deacon Noel F. (Bud) Bryant officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Bryant Public Schools food service department, 200 NW 4th St., Bryant, AR 72022, in order to help continue to provide meals for children who need assistance.

The family also wishes to offer their special thanks to Johnny Edwards, a life-long friend of Robert’s, for unselfishly always being there for anything.
