Patricia Murdock Everett, 81, of Sherrill, AR, went to be with the Lord the morning of October 30, 2020.

She is survived by her son, Randy Everett (Susan); two granddaughters, Heather Duke (Jeff) and Loren Lyons (Peyton); five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Garrett, and Macie Duke and Addilyn and Lane Lyons; one brother, Daniel Murdock (Nancy); several nieces and nephews, and her special friends, “The Lunch Bunch.”

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, James E. Everett; her parents, Daniel Bert Murdock and Willie Mae Murdock; and a brother, Hardin Murdock.

Pat had a passion for literature and teaching. She was an English teacher at White Hall High School for 32 years and was loved by all her students.

Family was most important. Pat loved her home and living on her family farm, where she herself grew up and then raised her family. As an avid reader, she most enjoyed being outside with all her beloved animals and a good book.

She was a Baptist and was a member of the Sherrill Civic Club.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 2, 2020, at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. John Mooney officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors.

CDC guidelines for masks and distancing will be strictly followed, and for those rather wishing to attend online, the service will be live-streamed at

Memorial contributions may be made to Sherrill First Missionary Baptist Church or to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Ms. Everett (Pat) was a colleague, friend, and a truly outstanding educator. She was respected by all of her colleagues, and her students knew that she genuinely cared about them. She worked tirelessly to give them every opportunity to succeed in life. Her contributions to the White Hall School District can never be overstated. She will be missed and remembered fondly, always.

I taught in the English Department at White Hall High School with Pat where we shared same lunch time. She had the greatest smile, and I can still hear her laughing. She was loved and admired by staff and students alike. She also left a legacy for the love of reading.

Randy and Susan, Danny and Nancy, and all the Murdock Family, Pat was a friend and “mentor” to me before that was an “in” word! She was the big sister I never had. She and James were so good to me during my adolescent and teen years. I wish I could be there to meet all the grands, great-grands, nieces and nephews. She told me so much about you all! I pray today will be a special day of celebration and sharing wonderful memories.
