Obituary for Ona May Thresher (Shelton)

Ona May Thresher, of Pine Bluff, was born October 15, 1935, in Hot Springs to Jess and Fannie Holland Shelton.  She was a laundry mat worker, baby sitter and shoe factory worker.  She was a member of Whiteville Missionary Baptist Church. Ona May loved painting, sewing, and working in the garden.  In fact, she loved doing any outside work. She loved to plan her days meticulously. 

Ona May passed away on June 6, 2022, at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Allie, Nelly, Dessie, Ellen, Bernice, Jean, Melvin, Ben, Mac, David, and Donnie.

Survivors include her husband, James Fred Thresher; one daughter, Amanda Rittenhouse; two granddaughters, Karen Pollock and Katherine Rittenhouse; four great-grandchildren, Gavin Rittenhouse, Judieth Rittenhouse, Dravin Roberts, and Zachary Felts; one sister, Eula Vaughn and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 11, 2022, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with a celebration of her life at 3:00 P.M. with Minister LeRon Braswell officiating.
