Obituary

Murphy Maye Goodman Brown, 92, of White Hall died Friday, February 21, 2020. She was born July 15, 1927 in Jefferson County, the daughter of Elijah and Bessie Allison Goodman. She received her education at Grapevine and Watson Chapel schools.
Mrs. Brown worked for Central Transformer (later Central Moloney) for 33 years, then with her husband Vic at Vic Brown Motors.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of White Hall and a 50-year member of Union Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. A devoted wife and mother, she loved her family and extended family.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Vic, whom she married in White Hall June 13, 1946; her parents; infant daughter, Vicki Lynn; granddaughter, Dana Reynolds Nichols; an infant brother; her brother, Voy Goodman and his wife Carolyn; and her stepmother, Bonnie Goodman.
Survivors include her children, Dr. Michael Brown (June) of Oakland, Tennessee; Vikki Reynolds (Bill) of Hot Springs, Teresa Marks (Leon) of Sparks, Nevada and foster daughter, Allene Rice of Freeport, Illinois; six grandchildren, Kristi Burke, Bryan Brown, Bryon Reynolds, Heath Reynolds (Katherine), Adam Napper and Will Finkelstein; seven great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Monday, February 24, 2020 at Lee Cemetery (Sulphur Springs) with Reverend Paul Williams officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Food Pantry at White Hall First Baptist Church.

Jimmy and I are so sorry to read Murphy passed away. We just found out today(Tuesday) and regret we didn’t attend the graveside service. We send prayers for her family.
