Obituary

Mary Katherine “Kathy” Ticer, 63, of the Hardin Community, passed away at her home, Wednesday, October 7, 2020, of lung cancer.
Mrs. Ticer was born May 2, 1957, in Lake Village, a daughter of the late James and Vivian McCrory Vaughan. She grew up and attended schools in Montrose and Portland, Arkansas.
Mrs. Ticer was a waitress off and on for many years before she and her husband purchased Motorway Grocery and Café in 2007.
She was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. Mrs. Ticer never met a stranger and loved to help family and friends by giving them a place to live when times were tough. An example of her kindness, she once picked up a hitch hiker on her way to church and told him if he would go to church with her, she would take him anywhere he needed to go!!! This gentleman is still a member of her church today! She was a devoted wife and mother and loved her family very much.
Mrs. Ticer is survived by her husband, Robert Ticer of Pine Bluff; four daughters, Christine Hendrix of Leesville, Louisiana, Amy Bonner, Jessica Williams, and Valarie Ticer, all of Pine Bluff; eight grandchildren; her sister, Sandra Lunsford of White Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Pete Vaughan; and a sister, Brenda Vaughan.
The family will have visitation, Friday, October 9, 2020, 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home.
