Obituary

Marjorie Lucille Gray Steed, 94, of Pine Bluff, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Steed was born September 9, 1925, in Jefferson County, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Burley and Laura Ragsdale Gray. She was reared and received her education in Pine Bluff, where she graduated from Pine Bluff High School.
She married Howard Drew Steed on January 31, 1947, in Pine Bluff.
Mrs. Steed was a secretary for Institutional Food Broker, Inc. where she worked for 23 years, retiring from there in 1990.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she served in the Women On Mission Group and was a member of the Immanuel Strumming Seniors. She was also a member of the Watson Chapel Garden Club.
She is survived by her son, Howard D. (Linda) Steed, Jr. of Hot Springs; three daughters, Carolyn (JD) Earnest of Pine Bluff, Cathy (Jimmy) Hightower of Cedarville, Arkansas, and Louise (Wayne) Triplett of Harmony, Florida; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Dot Noyes of Lake Village; and her step-sister, Mildred Snell of Little Rock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard D. Steed; three brothers, George Gray, Leon Gray, and Hollis Gray; and five sisters, Frances De La Vega, Lorella Garner, Genie Wayman, Zelma Marshall, and Laura Nichols.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 24, 2019, 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Don Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Steed wanted donations to take the form of contributions to Immanuel Baptist Church, 1801 West 17th Avenue, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Arkansas Chapter, 11324 Arcade Drive #16, Little Rock, Arkansas 72212, American Heart Association, 909 West 2nd Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201, or to the donor’s favorite charity.
