Obituary

Marilyn Frances Lindsay Kimbrell, age 82, of Pine Bluff, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020.

Born January 31, 1938 at England, AR, Marilyn was a daughter of the late George William Lindsay and Mary Victoria Knight Lindsay. She moved to Pine Bluff at the age of five and graduated from Pine Bluff High School.
She also attended Pines Vocational-Technical School.

Mrs. Kimbrell worked as a computer operator at United Water for 23 years prior to her retirement in 1999.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and a former member of Rosswood Country Club and the DuBocage Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association.

Survivors include her husband, Billie Franklin Kimbrell, whom she married on October 22, 1955 at Pine Bluff; a son, Billy Kimbrell (Debbie) of Lamar, AR; a daughter, Phyllis Kimbrell Denton (Chris) of Mesquite, TX; her siblings, James Harold “Butch” Lindsay of Fairborn, OH, Linda Powers of Pine Bluff, and Ann Gorman of Dyersburg, TN; four grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Cathy White of Gladewater, TX; and a “bonus daughter”, Holly Rogers Ellis of Pine Bluff.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m.

I met Marilyn in seventh grade and we were instantly best friends. That friendship continued, I spent many nights at the Lindsey’s. Then we met the Kimbrell first cousins that we married. I will treasure our friendship forever. Fly high my friend! Love to the family.

Good bye my friend, we had a lot of good times at General Waterworks/United Water. We had even more fun when we went to Vegas. You will be greatly miss and always will be in my heart.
