Laverne Frye, 85, of Pine Bluff, AR, entered Heaven’s gates on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Laverne was born to Lela Mae and Lester Ferguson on August 17, 1935. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Charlie Frye; one grandson, Christopher Frye; brothers, Dale, Charles, and Raymond; and one sister, Barbara Ann Carter.

Survivors include seven children, Shirley Crow (Bill), Mike Frye (Alice), Larry Frye, Jimmy Frye (Jackie), Bobby Frye, Karen Stewart, and Butch Frye (Sonya); sisters, Treta Crabtree, Virginia Reed, and Geneva Burnett; brothers, Don Jett, Jerry Jett, and Roy Jett. Laverne is survived by 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren along with numerous children she cared for over the years. Laverne had a special great-niece who cared for her, Hannah Wooldridge. Hannah could get Laverne to do things no one else could and she made sure Laverne knew she was loved.

Laverne taught Sunday School, children’s church and kept church nurseries for a multitude of years. She has a host of church friends she loved like family.

Thanks to the Greenhouse Cottages at Rison for their loving care.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, May 28, 2021, at Cypress Memorial Gardens on Hwy 63 in Pine Bluff under the direction of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors.

When tomorrow starts without me
Please try to understand
That an angel came and called my name
And took me by the hand.

The angel said my place was ready
In Heaven far above
And that I would have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.

But When I walked through Heaven’s Gates
I felt so much at home
When GOD looked down and smiled at me
And told me “Welcome home.”

So when tomorrow starts without me
Do not think we’re apart
For every time you think of me
Remember I’m right here in your heart.
