Obituary

Kay Shinall Chavis, age 76, of White Hall, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021.

Born at Pine Bluff on January 14, 1945, she was a daughter of the late John Henry Shinall and Blanche Amelia Word Shinall. She graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1964.

Kay spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. She had worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, the Pine Bluff Commercial, and Weingarten’s.

She was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church. Kay loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Robert E. “Bob” Chavis, Sr. preceded her in death. Also predeceasing her are two sisters, Juanita Tucker and Oletha Shinall.

Survivors include three sons, Robert E. ”Bob” Chavis, Jr. (Lisa), John L. Chavis, Bruce A. Chavis (Karri); a daughter, Amelia “Amy” Chavis Dardenne (Dennis); and seven grandchildren, Ryan Dardenne (Hanna), Katy Chavis, Justin Dardenne, Summer Chavis, Josh Dardenne, Jared Chavis, and Lyndsi Chavis.

Kay’s funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2021, 10:30 a.m. at Watson Chapel Baptist Church with Brother Steve Monk officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Robinson’s.

My brother adored Kay in their beautiful marriage. My parents loved her as their own so deeply. And, I loved her as a sister more than sis n law. Heaven & Angel's are rejoicing in her eternal home. Here's my love to those who remain: Bob, John, Bruce & Amy.
