Karen Ann Stroud, 73, of Pine Bluff, passed away March 24, 2023 at home.

            She was born February 8, 1950 in Camden, daughter of Bernard and Sharon Wilson Stroud.

            Karen was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1968.  She studied technical writing and computer science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

            She worked for Southern Pacific (later Union Pacific) Railroad from August of 1970 until April of 1988.  Karen then worked for the Jefferson County Assessor’s Office from January of 1990 until her retirement in February of 2015.

            Karen was an active member of First Christian Church.

            Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Reverend Delores Stroud.

            While there are no immediate survivors, Karen leaves behind her extended family, loving church family, work family, good friends and her high school class.

            A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Cypress Memorial Gardens with Reverend Angela Wrentz officiating. 

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 304 White Hall Avenue, White Hall, AR 71602.
