John Nevings McNulty, 76, of Pine Bluff, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

He was born September 15, 1944 in Pine Bluff, son of John R. “Doc” McNulty and Alline Lowe McNulty.

John was a lifelong resident of Pine Bluff, attending schools there and graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1963. He attended Arkansas A&M at Monticello, where he met his wife, Sue Pittman. They married December 19, 1965 at Lake Village and were married nearly 44 years until Sue passed away July 2, 2009.

John worked in the family farm equipment business with his father and later his brother, Phillip. John also managed their other dealership in Gould.

He was an avid duck hunter. John taught many friends the sport and how to master the duck call. This is a characteristic that he instilled in his son, Johnny. John and Sue were always involved with their children’s activities. Laura has the same passion for lake activities, car racing and trout fishing. The biggest outing for all four of them was their annual trout fishing trip, which was usually several times a year.

John was a founding member of Crockett Lake Lodge for over 40 years and was also active coaching baseball and football at the Pine Bluff Boys Club and Seabrook.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Brad Pittman and a cousin, Paul McNulty.

Survivors include his children, John P. (Jodi) McNulty of Pine Bluff and Laura McNulty (Justin) Raines of White Hall; brother, Phillip (Ellen) McNulty of Long Beach, Mississippi; grandchildren, Taylor McNulty (Shane) Murray of Alexander, John Colin McNulty of Conway; step-grandchildren, Justin “Woody” Raines, Taylor Raines, Ashley Puckett, Allison Puckett and Hannah Taylor; nephews, Phillip McNulty, Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Stokley (Sophie) Gray of New Orleans, Louisiana, Scott Pittman of Texarkana, Arkansas; niece, Shea Lynn (Jeremy) Garner of Texarkana; brother-in-law, James V. Pittman (Faye) of Texarkana; cousins, Pat McNulty of Ft. Myers, Florida and Le Anne McNulty of Cammack Village.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 5, 2020 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Brother John Mooney officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Robinson’s. All covid-19 state guidelines will be followed for all events, including mask wearing at the funeral home and cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital Foundation, 1 Children’s Way, Slot 661, Little Rock, AR 72202-3591.
