Joe H. McClain, 76, of Redfield, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020, at Hospice Home Care Inpatient Center in Little Rock.
Mr. McClain was born January 29, 1944, in Phillips County, to the late Vernon A. and Rosa Lee Davis McClain.
Mr. McClain worked as a machinist for National Wire Fabric in Star City and retired from there in 2013.
He was a member of Christian Life Fellowship, where he served as lead guitarist. Mr. McClain was a great musician who inspired many to learn to play the guitar. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with them and his furry companions.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ruth Ann Bass McClain, whom he married May 7, 1965, in the Sulphur Springs Community; one son, Joe McClain, II; two daughters, Patricia (Scott) Baker and Becky Kent; six grandchildren, Allen (Courtland) Akines, Johnny Kearney, James Kearney, Emily Kearney, Stephanie (Chris) Gay, and Frances Kearney; three great-grandchildren, Courbin Akines, Victoria James, and Olivia Gay; a son-in-law, Glen Akines, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Mr. McClain was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, O. V. “Pete” McClain, James McClain, Benny McClain, and Glenn McClain; three sisters, Carmen Carroll, Virginia Phillips, and Joyce Strawn.
There will be a memorial service Saturday, September 26, 2020, 10:30 AM, at Christian Life Fellowship with Reverend Don Herring officiating.
