Joe L. Devine, 80, of Searcy, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at Walker Baptist Hospital in Jasper, Alabama.
Mr. Devine was born April 18, 1940, in Marshall, Texas, a son of the late James Pete and Ellen Taylor Devine. He was reared and received his education in White Hall, where he attended White Hall High School.
Mr. Devine married Dorothy Sue Andrews Cummings on February 28, 1992, in Rison, Arkansas. They moved from Rison to Searcy in 1994.
He was an overland truckdriver for 50 years.
Mr. Devine was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Searcy.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Dorothy Sue Devine of Searcy, Arkansas; daughter, Debbie Cockrell of Rison; step-daughter, Alisa (Don) Montgomery of Rison; step-son, Jeffrey (Lori) Cummings of Carrollton, Georgia; four step-grandchildren, Samantha Montgomery of Little Rock, Shelby (Cody) Edge of Benton, Cameron (Karen) Cummings of Carrollton, Georgia, and Dakota Cummings of Carrollton, Georgia; and two sisters, Alice (Mack) Riggins of Rison, and Betty Jo Babbin of Spring, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James F. Devine and Paul W. Devine; and two sisters, Bobbie Christenson and Mary Ann Williams.
Graveside services will be Saturday, June 13, 2020, 1:00 p.m., at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cleveland County with Reverend Johnie Brewster officiating.
Memorials may be sent to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2509 W. Beebe Capps Expressway, Searcy, Arkansas 72143.

Paul and I will miss sitting in church with you every Sunday, and will miss your sweet smile and hug to brighten our day. Our love and prayers go out to Sue. May God give her comfort and peace, as only He can.
