Jerry Lynn Moore Sr went to be with the Lord on March 30th at the age of 75. He was at the home he built, surrounded by the family he loved.
Jerry graduated from Dollarway High School in 1963 and was an accomplished athlete. He continued his education at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
After college he began his career working for the Cotton Belt Railroad until his retirement in 1991. An entrepreneur at heart, Jerry launched a catering service which quickly expanded to the family operated restaurant, Moore's BBQ. He served the community for 20 years with his sweet smile and tasty barbecue.
Besides cooking and serving others, he enjoyed golfing, camping, skiing, yard work and writing poems. He was an avid carpenter. His favorite activity was spending time with his family.
Jerry worshiped at Central Baptist Church and hosted decades of events at the family's house and pool with fellow members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita Virginia Studdard and Herman Augustus Moore, and his brother, Steve Moore.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Brenda Hammonds Moore, three sons: Jay (Anna) of Hot Springs, Stephen (Jareta) of Conway, and Jason of White Hall; three daughters: Jennifer Thyen (John), Elizabeth Moore, and Jessica Yaguez (Julio) all of White Hall. He has nine grandchildren: Buck, Spencer, Emily, Allison, Arabella, Logan, Morgan, Olivia, and Sofia.
Those who knew him will remember his beautiful blue eyes, warm heart and big smile.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 2nd, at 2 PM at Central Baptist Church in White Hall with the Dr. Jordan Ferris and Bro. Kent Dixon officiating. Visitation will follow until 4:30 PM. Masks must be worn and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
