Obituary for James Clark "JC" Wood

J. C. Wood, 91, longtime resident of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord, December 28, 2019.
J. C. was born to loving parents Jim and Lilly Wood of Humphrey, Arkansas, where he attended school. Later, he joined the United States Navy and was a World War II Veteran. He then met his beautiful wife June and they enjoyed 70 years of a wonderful life together.
J. C. was 5’9” but stood very tall in the eyes of those who knew him. The example he lived before us will always remain strong in our lives. His heart was easily touched and wanted those he loved to know how much he cared. Always eager to share his knowledge to help us do better. He excelled at many things- golf, bass fishing, being a caregiver to his beloved June as her health declined. His belief was ‘If anything is worth doing, it is worth doing right” and his curiosity to learn and know how to do things better. His legacy lives on in all who knew him and has their never-ending respect for a job well done.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June Kathryn Wood; daughter, Sandra McAlister; brothers, Cecil Green and Tommy Wood; two sisters, Maude Warden and her husband, Calvin, and Ella Mae Gaydis; cousin, Paul Wood; and his uncle, Rufus Wood.
