James Alexander Williams went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the age of 89. He was born October 30, 1929 in Pine Bluff to Absolom Alexander and Mary Kyle Williams. He attended High School in Pine Bluff, and after graduating from SMU Law School he honorably served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS St Paul. He was married to Janet Louise Bray, with whom he had three daughters, and after her passing, he married Julia Ann McGehee. He practiced law in Dallas, Texas for many years up until he retired after moving to Arkansas with his second wife. He was an active member in the Methodist Church throughout his lifetime, and he was a loving husband, son, brother, father and uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Kathleen Drumwright and her husband Henry, his wife Janet and wife Julia Ann. He is survived by his children Laura Kaufman and her husband Michael, Victoria Williams, and Diana Williams, his step-daughter Julie Honeycutt and her husband Michael, and their children Alexandra and Christina, his nephews Mark Drumwright and his sons and grandchildren and Joe and Mary Drumwright and their sons and grandchildren.

The burial will be at Bellwood Annex Cemetery in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on Tuesday, July 30th, at 10:00am. A Celebration of Life service is being planned for October in Pine Bluff.
