J.W. Hallman, 79, of Pine Bluff, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020. He was born September 16, 1940 in McClellan, Arkansas to the late J.C. and Hazel Turner Hallman.

J.W. was reared and educated in Cotton Plant. He worked for and retired from Cotton Belt Railroad in Pine Bluff and was a member of Greenlee Baptist Church. J.W loved fishing, hunting and gardening. He always had a garden big enough for his family and everyone else. In the garden he always made room for rows of gladiolus that he and his wife shared with friends and neighbors, much to their delight. He took great pleasure in sharing.

Also preceding him in death was a brother, Charles Hallman.

J.W.’s family was his greatest love and he is survived by his wife, Claudetta Taylor Hallman, whom he married June 19, 1959 in Cotton Plant; daughter, Jill Croft; son, Brad Hallman (Tabatha); four grandchildren, Megan Croft, Allison Croft, Taylor Hallman and Jenny Morrison; and three great grandchildren, Ava Easterling, Bradley Hallman and Freya Morrison.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, March 11, 2020 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Reverend James Watson officiating. Burial will be in Cypress Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour before service from 9:30-10:30 am Wednesday.
