Mr. George Morrisey came into my office at National Bank of Commerce a few months after I was hired and asked me to write a $46 check and "sign here." Of course, I inquired why I was writing that check and he said, "you and Justin (then five years old) need a home." I am honored and humbled to this day 30+ years later that Mr. Morrisey thought of my little family that morning.

The small check was to transfer the title for an assumable mortgage for a home in Indian Hills that was being turned over to the local S & L. No downpayment, no points to pay, just sign here. Mr. Morrisey knew the property would not last long so I literally bought my first home in Pine Bluff before I even saw it.

George Morrisey was a trustworthy, kind, sweet man. I am sure there are hundreds of people like us who had their lives improved by his thoughtfulness. The only grace in death is that sometimes it gives people the opportunity to shine a public light on goodness that matters. Mr. Morrisey's life mattered a lot. Jimmy and Justin join me in offering our heartfelt sympathy to his family over their huge loss. - Mary Olivia Cornwell
