Freda Marie Croft Rogers, 78, of Rison, died Monday, November 30, 2020.

“Mrs. Freda” as she was known to many was born January 26, 1942 in Gould, daughter of Freddie and Jevota Nolan Croft.

She was reared and received her early education in Gould.

Mrs. Freda served the Pine Bluff community as a cosmetologist for 56 years with her expert care and winning personality.

She was a member of Griffith Springs Church of Christ. She was a proud member of the Top of the Rock Chorus within the “Sweet Adelines” singing group.

Mrs. Freda loved spending time with her grandkids, loved ceramics and painting and enjoyed yardwork.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Philbor Maurice Rogers, Sr.; brother, Thomas Croft; and two sisters, Joann Gordon and Judy Lewis.

Known as “Nana” to much of her family, survivors include her son, Phil M. Rogers, Jr. (Carol Ann) of Rison; daughter, Kim Rogers of Rison; sister, Zonna Hill of Tennessee; brother, Jerry Croft of Russellville; and seven grandchildren, Jessica Murphy, Heather Rogers, Noah Rogers, Elizabeth Ann Stacks, Rebecca Richardson, Hannah Slaughter and Jacob Rogers; and ten great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 4, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Brother Joseph Stacks and Brother Noah Rogers officiating. Due to covid-19, the family has decided not to have a formal visitation. However, there will be time for friends and loved ones to pay their respects to Mrs. Freda Thursday afternoon from 3:30-6:00 p.m. at Robinson’s. Masks are required at both the funeral home and graveside.

Memorials may be made to Jefferson Regional Foundation, 1600 West 40th Avenue, Pine Bluff, AR 71603.

Kim, Phil and families, I am so sorry to just have learned of your loss of Freda. She was my hairdresser for more years than either of us could remember and we were good friends for many years and did many things together. My husband made me sit down before he would tell me after he found out the sad news. There are no words to take away the sorrow and pain that losing her has caused. I know how much she loved her grandchildren and adored her great grandchildren. She was so proud of each of you. As you know, she truly was one of a kind. I will keep you all in my prayers for the Lord to Bless you with strength, comfort and peace through one of the most difficult times in life. Remember that so many share your sorrow with you. You never walk alone. She was such a beautiful person and Heaven has truly gained an Angel. Now she sings with the angels.

With love and heartfelt sympathy, Carole (Johns) Rushing

I am so sorry to hear of Miss Freda's passing. She did my mother's (Betsy Thompson) hair for years. She was such a joy and I know she will be missed
