Obituary

Ellen B. Milner, 85, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed peacefully on February 13, 2021. Ellen was born April 16, 1935 in Clarendon, Arkansas, daughter of Ernest Shelton Bickerstaff and Mary Jane Johnston. Ellen’s passing was preceded by her husband, Dwayne Milner; her parents; brother, Nathan E. Bickerstaff; and two sisters, Thelma Bickerstaff Richardson and Illa B. Hope.

Ellen graduated from Clarendon High School in 1953 and was married to Dwayne Milner that same year until his death in 2017. Ellen called Pine Bluff her home from 1956 until 2017 when she then moved to Raymore, MO (Kansas City) to spend her retirement years near her son and his family.

While in Pine Bluff, Ellen was an active member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and held her lifelong friends from the church and local community very close to her heart through to her last days. Ellen dedicated her life to provide a home for her family while still finding time for volunteer work with the church as well as several years for Jefferson Regional Hospital.

In her spare time Ellen enjoyed sewing, quilting and baking our favorite desserts.

Immediate family survivors include her daughter, Laura Jane Milner Clement of Pine Bluff; son, Thomas Dwayne Milner and his wife Donna of Kansas City, MO; three grandchildren, Erin Ellen Clement of Pine Bluff, Caroline Nicole Ewing (Milner) and Jonathan Thomas Milner of Kansas City; and two great-grandsons, Lochlan Thomas Ewing and Ehren Harper Gatlin Abbott.

Friends and family are invited to visitation and memorial service to be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, located at 807 South Cherry Street, Pine Bluff, AR, with Reverend Davis Thompson officiating. Visitation will be at 9:30 AM and the memorial service will follow at 10:30. Burial will be private. Local Covid19 prevention guidelines will be observed. Memorials are not expected but appreciated to St. Luke Methodist Church, 32 School Street, Pine Bluff, AR 71602.

Jane and Tommy, I loved your mom and have many fond memories with her. I loved her cooking and as I recall, she liked having me at the table because I was a hearty eater. I am very sorry for your loss. Love you both, Donna
