Dorothy Cater Riley, 87, of White Hall, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019. She was born March 8, 1932 in Monticello to the late James Pink and Effie Mae Chidester Cater.

Dorothy had owned and operated a craft shop for years and loved it, and was also a floral designer at Shepherd’s and Harvest Foods. She was also a homemaker and a Baptist.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Wilber Lee Riley, the love of her life, whom she married October 5, 1950; and seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia (Skip) Parker; 2 sons, Michael “Mike” (Jackie) Riley and Russell “Rusty” (Laynette) Riley; 6 grandchildren, Will Parker, Stephanie Parker Ford, Ryan (Tammy) Riley, Joseph Riley, Melissa (Roy) Campbell and Raven (Tyler) Riley Washabaugh; 8 great grandchildren, Brandon Ford, Jaden Ford, Maddie Riley, Max Riley, Bailey Riley, Miles Riley, Chris Campbell and Sawyer Campbell; and her loving companion, Bob Murphy.
Graveside services will be 2:30 PM Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Ronald Grundy officiating. Special music will be by Laynette Riley.
The family will be at 803 Meredith in White Hall. The family would like to give a special thanks to Tara and Lenora at Countryside Assisted Living in Huntsville and all of the staff for taking care of Dorothy for 6 years.
