Bonnie Jean Davis Lewis, 91, of Pine Bluff, went to be with the Lord, Monday, October 12, 2020.

Mrs. Lewis was born November 23, 1928, in Pine Bluff, to Voda Jesse and Ellen Shephard Davis. She was a lifelong resident of the Hardin Community, attending Hardin grade school and graduated from White Hall High School in 1947.

She married Bobby Vernon Lewis, July 18, 1948, in Pine Bluff. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis were married for 61 years. They enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with their family until his death on October 18, 2009.
Bonnie, or affectionately known as Mamaw, enjoyed tending to her yard and flowers, taking bus tours, going to the beach and Branson, relaxing at her pool with her family and friends.

Mrs. Lewis was an accounting technician for the Pine Bluff Arsenal in the comptroller office from which she retired after 30 years in 1985. She had also worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and Smart Chevrolet Auto Dealership.

She was a longtime active member of Oakland Heights Missionary Baptist Church and loved the Lord with all of her heart. She enjoyed serving in the church by working in the nursery, vacation Bible school and making fruit baskets for the elderly at Christmas time.

She is survived by her two devoted sons, Randal L. (Kay) Lewis and Glen R. (Miriam) Lewis, of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren, Richard (Melanie) Lewis, Robert (Robin) Lewis, Carla (Andy) Gaddy, and Carole (Mark) McCarroll; and eight great grandchildren, and her life-long friend, Juanice Jones.

Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Bobby V. Lewis; two brothers, Virgil W. Davis and Otis Davis; sisters, Odell Stokes Smith and her twin sister, Barbara Jean Davis; great-grandson, Chase Lewis Williams; and her daughter-in-law, Janice Lewis.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 14, 2020, 10:30 AM, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Johnathan Witcher officiating by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will follow the graveside service.

The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice; and her caregivers, Sheila Keith, Frances Hargraves and Janie Reynolds.

Mamaw (Bonnie) was an inspiration to me. She wanted to be at church serving the Lord even when she wasn't really able to. She was an amazing lady. She loved her family with all her being, that included her church family. She set the bar very high for the ones she has left behind, to be present in the worship services even when you were not at your best. I thank God that he allowed me to know her. She will be missed but she left on me an positive impression.
