Obituary

Barbara June Mashburn Stover, 68, of Woodlawn, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 26, 2019, at UAMS Hospital in Little Rock.
Mrs. Stover was born May 19, 1951, in Keo, Arkansas, a daughter of the late John William and June Ietta Coleman Mashburn. She was reared and received her education in Altheimer, Arkansas, where she graduated from Altheimer High School. She also attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
Mrs. Stover was an elementary school teacher for 27 years and retired from Woodlawn Elementary School.
She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Retired Teachersโ€™ Association, Ladies Auxiliary Club and SEARK Concert Association Board in Monticello. Mrs. Stover was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and going to all of their sporting events. She also enjoyed singing and sewing and seeing her former students, always greeting them with a hug and a smile.
Mrs. Stover is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, David Stover, whom she married June 2, 1972, in Monticello; her daughters, Heather Rachelle Stover Hargis and her husband Brian and Leah Allison Stover Lambert, all of Woodlawn; son, Brian David Stover and his wife Chelsea of Woodlawn; four grandchildren, Chloe and Cash Hargis, Parker and Josey Lambert, all of Woodlawn; three sisters, Brenda Mason of Conway, Judy Denton of Des Arc and Evelyn Wilburn of North Little Rock; and two brothers, Johnny Mashburn of Pine Bluff and Odell Mashburn of Alexander.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Pat McDaniel, Linda Owens and Lita Naylen; and her brother, Sonny Mashburn.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 28, 2019, 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Woodlawn.
Funeral services will be Sunday, September 29, 2019, 2:00 PM, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with Reverends Jackie Richardson and Dub Byers officiating. Burial will follow at Rowell Cemetery in Cleveland County.
The family has asked that memorials take the form of contributions to Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 5990 Highway 63, Rison, Arkansas, 71665 and/or Arora Organ Donation and Tissue Bank, 1701 Aldersgate Road #4, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.
