Archie Spears of Greers Ferry was born July 19, 1957 in Pine Bluff, to the late C.W. and Betty Spears. He attended Dollarway High School and later went on to drive an 18 wheeler cross country for many years and then settled as a machinist working for Camden Wire, Trefilarbed and Kohler for the rest of his career life.

He is survived by his 4 daughters Brandi Wheeler of Gulfport MS, Amy (Darren) Pierce of Sheridan, Kathy (Mike) Dixon of Pine Bluff, Tami (Spencer) Croy of Redfield; 11 grandchildren Brandon House, Gerri, Erin and Ruby Bretchel, Jessica Pierce, Chris Wheeler, Rebekah Dixon, Joshua McGhee, Colton (Destiny) Funderburg, Makayla (Zac) Watkins and Spencer Funderburg; 5 great grandchildren Skyler, Lexcie, Axel, Greyson and Gentry; 2 brothers Wayne (Marty) Spears of Enola and David Spears of Bryant and a dear lifelong friend who he considered a brother, Richard (Gina) Wilson of Jonesboro.

He is preceded in death by his son Kevin Lawrence, parents C.W. and Betty Spears and left this world hours after the love of his life, Debbie. He and Debbie were inseparable and it has often been said that where you saw one you saw the other. He was her caretaker, best friend, and loving husband of 32 years. The traumatic loss of Debbie was unbearable and ultimately ended his life.

He spent most of his time caring for Deb, working on his garden, cooking and he loved to fish with the grandsons. He loved to share with them what he was making for dinner, what he was baking or how big his tomato plants where getting. He never missed a chance to crack a corny joke or put his 2 cents in. Archie was so proud of his girls and grandkids.

Private services will be held at a later date for family and close friends.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Archie Lee and his dear wife. He was the cousin of my sons' father, Don Doss. I can see him now at reunions, always standing around laughing. My prayers are with their entire family.
