Mind Me

Our minds...
Memories
What use to be
And what is now?

Alzheimers
Dementia
Don't label me
I'm not mad or crazy.

What is reality?
Your perspective only?
What about me?
Do you think I don't see?

I have a whole lifetime
Of reality
A perspective of mine
That, it's YOU who do not see.

What determines what
Is right in THIS moment?
Is it you? And what about mine?
At least I own it.

Who cares who or what I see you as now?
At least I see you and affirm that.
And I talk to you in the way seems right.
What about that?

Do not deny my world
It is what I see
Do not label me
Because my world and me
Are both worthy.
