Obituary

Anna Mae Archer Anderson, 95, of Hot Springs, formerly of Sherrill, died Monday, November 18, 2019.
She was born April 3, 1924 in Lonoke County, the first of eight children born to Jimmie and Lorene Archer. She was followed by her only sister and best friend, Hazel, as well as six brothers, Marion, James, Vernon, Johnny, Gene and baby Carroll. She and Hazel helped rear the younger brothers and cared for their parents faithfully in their later years. Ironically, Anna Mae, the eldest child, outlived all the rest.
Anna Mae was reared and educated around Keo in Lonoke County. She married Harold Anderson November 25, 1942. They reared their family in the Sherrill community where they were faithful members of Sherrill Baptist Church. Harold passed away July 17, 2002 after almost sixty years of marriage. Anna Mae enjoyed a forty-year career with J.C. Penney Co.
Survivors include her sons, Harold Anderson, Jr. (Debbie) of Hot Springs and Charles Anderson of Monticello; daughter, Phyllis Bardwell (Robert) of Prosper, Texas; granddaughters, Kristi Anderson Griffin (Kelly, and Valerie Bardwell Tyler (Chris); grandsons, Curtis Anderson (Joni), Blair Bardwell (Jen); Joshua Anderson, and Jeffrey Anderson (Destin); great-grandchildren, Alex Griffin (Kaylin), Anna Griffin, Grace Tyler, Harrison Tyler, Katie Bardwell, Reese Bardwell, Lyla Bardwell, Cole Anderson, Alex Anderson and Caroline Anderson; as well as many nieces, nephews and a few dear friends.
The visitation will be Friday, November 22, 2019 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son from 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. with Brother John Mooney officiating. Interment will follow in Keo Cemetery.
