Almarieda Harris Hyatt, 91, of Pine Bluff, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020. She was born July 1, 1929 to the late Ed and Ethel Rodgers Harris in Cleveland County, Arkansas.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Odell Hyatt; one daughter, Deione Kugler; and two brothers, Kenneth Harris and Rodgers Harris. Almarieda is survived by one daughter, Gail Saffold (Bill); one son, Mark Hyatt (Chris); one son-in-law, John Kugler; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and special family friend, Sharon Johnson. She was known as Mamama and Grandmama.

Almarieda was educated in Woodlawn, married Odell Hyatt on November 1, 1947 in Fordyce and devoted her life to caring for her family. She was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church, Eastern Star Chapter 421 and the Strumming Seniors Band.

Almarieda loved music. Growing up she played the piano as her dad lead in gospel singings all over Arkansas. She continued playing the piano throughout her adult life along with the ukulele, fiddle and guitar. Later in life, she played the melodeon as arthritis prevented her from playing her favorite, the piano.
Almarieda loved her kids, grandkids and great grandkids and was heard saying more than once “I started it all”. She was a fun, kind and giving person who made many lifelong friends.

Memorial donations may be made to Whispering Pines Cowboy Church; 6912 Old Warren Road; Pine Bluff, AR 71603; Watson Chapel Baptist Church; 5514 Pinnacle Lane; Pine Bluff, AR 71603 or the charity of your choice.

Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Prosperity Cemetery with visitation at the cemetery from 2:00 P.M. until service time. Brother Wes Sparks and Brother Todd Howard will be officiating the service. Burial will be under the direction of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors.

OMG. My hearts hurts at the thought of loosing her. She was my down the street neighbor and when I walked Isabella she always came out to visit. Whenever I cooked I would make her a plate. She and GAIL made homemade strawberry shortcake and would send down to me. Delicious! Wonderful memories. She will be missed and my thoughts and prayers are with her family. ❤️
